The former New Zealand Rugby Union chairman Jock Hobbs is in a serious condition in Wellington hospital.
Hobbs, a former All Black captain, has been battling leukemia for the last couple of years.
The NZRU chief executive Steve Tew says all their thoughts are with Jock and hisb family.
His son Michael, who plays for the Blues, has flown back from South Africa.
