Beef + Lamb New Zealand says conditions are on track for another solid year for the sheep and beef sector.
In a mid-season update, its economic service is forecasts export returns of 6.6 billion dollars.
Director Rob Davison says that's holding at last year's level, when export receipts for the sector rose by 15%.
But mutton supplies will be even tighter, with an drop estimated at 30% in exports from New Zealand this season.
Beef exporters are forecast to lift by about 5% and wool exports will be slightly down on last year.
