Agricultural businesses aiming to leverage off the Rugby World Cup are facing a lack of interest from international visitors in agri-tours.
The agricultural sector is one of 16 key areas identified by the government to be promoted to World Cup tourists over the next two months.
Lack of interest has led to two events in Taranaki being cancelled, though 10 agricultural events in five other regions are still to go ahead.
Agribusiness Showcase development manager Deborah Jack says marketing has been stepped up to generate more interest.
She says no money has been lost on the cancelled events and they could be revived if interest picks up.
