PSA likely to dominate kiwifruit growers' meeting

The PSA vine disease, which has affected 248 orchards so far, is expected to be the main topic at the annual meeting of the Kiwifruit Growers Association at Mount Maunganui on Thursday afternoon.

The disease was first discovered on a block of gold kiwifruit, near Te Puke last November.

Association president Peter Ombler says anxiety levels among growers over PSA are extremely high.

He says he's encouraged with progress he is seeing in the research around PSA, but it is still early-days.
