A line of shorn Border Leicester in lamb ewes from a central Hawke's Bay farm sold for an all time North Island record price this week at Stortford Lodge yards in Hastings.
Spirited bidding for the 384 two-tooths began at over $200 and finished a couple of minutes later when they sold for $310 each.
PGG Wrightson livestock manager Vern Wiggins says the price was exceptional, and up to $100 above what most ewes have been selling for recently.
