Weather no bar to national dog trials going ahead

1:25 pm on 8 June 2010

Cold wet conditions have caused little disruption to the South Island and national sheepdog trial championships that began near Gore on Monday.

The championship secretary, Maria Hurrell, says there have been a few scratchings, but entries have still been strong, with about 270 triallists and 480 dogs competing, including a large North Island contingent.

The trials finish on Saturday with the final run-offs for the national titles.
