It's a family affair for two of the three big winners in the Hawkes Bay-Wairarapa Dairy Industry Awards.

By winning the regional sharemilker/equity farmer of the Year title, Woodville couple Tony and Zoe Kuriger follow in the footsteps of Tony's parents Louis and Barbara Kuriger, who won the Taranaki title in 1987.

Tony's sister, Rachel Short, won the same Taranaki sharemilker title with her husband Kenneth last year.

The Hawke's Bay dairy trainee of the Year, Alice Gysbertsen, is also following her parents' success. They won the region's farm manager title last year.

This year's winner of that award is Nick Bertram.

In the Manawatu Dairy Industry Awards, Duncan and Kim Fraser have won he sharemilking title, Sam Ebbett is the farm manager of the year, and Hayley Hoogendyk the dairy trainee of the year.
