It been a busy week for New Zealand's top shearers with competitions taking place throughout the country.
With shearers gearing up for the Golden Shears and New Zealand Championships in March and April respectively - and fighting to win a place in the New Zealand team at the World Championship in Ireland in May - the competition is heating up.
Shearing Sports Doug Laing explains that a few familiar names have dominated the proceedings so far.
