Slow start to bull slaughter season

A shortage of bulls coming into meat plants is keeping prices firm, but a primary industry analyst warns that those prices could tumble very quickly.

The start to the bull slaughter season has been very slow, as farmers hold onto their cattle to get them up to a higher weight.

NZX Agrifax analyst Nick Handley says great pasture growing conditions during winter and early spring are responsible.
