Lincoln University has accepted an invitation to join the Euroleague for Life Sciences, a grouping of seven European universities.
The Euroleague for Life Sciences is a network of universities involved in teaching in the fields of agriculture, resource management and food, life and environmental sciences.
Lincoln assistant vice-chancellor Sheelagh Matear says there are many advantages for the university in being involved.
"The benefits are really exchange with the leading life sciences universities in Europe and other parts of the world, to collaborate on research, to collaborate on academic programme design, staff and student exchanges, lots of good international connections," says Professor Matear.
The only other university outside Europe invited to join the Euroleague for Life Sciences is the China Agricultural University in Beijing.
