Westland Milk Products has joined Fonterra in lifting its forecast milk payment for the season.
Westland has increased its milk price to a range of $7.60 to $8 a kilo of milk solids - $1 above its first forecast in May.
Chief executive Rod Quin said it's based on a strong start to the season, with milk supply running 5% higher than expected, and international milk prices continuing to rise, largely unaffected by the furore over contamination issues.
