Dairy farm management field days underway

10:20 am on 8 September 2009

The first in a series of field days to help dairy farmers with the challenges they face between now and the end of the year kick off in Ngatea and at Kakaramea on Tuesday.

Thirty field days will be held around the country in the next few weeks run by Dairy NZ as part of its Tight Management campaign.

Rob Brazendale from Dairy NZ says the aim is to help farmers work through the current economic challenges, encouraging cost-effective production and tactical decisions on spending.

Mr Brazendale says he is picking up a growing feeling of optimism from dairy farmers about the future.
