Irrigation ban lifted in Hawke's Bay

11:04 am on 8 July 2009

Hawke's Bay Regional Council has lifted the last of several irrigation bans imposed last summer.

Hawke's Bay is still officially in drought after another dry summer and autumn.

But the council says there's been sufficient rain recently to lift irrigation restrictions on the Poukawa and Karewarewa Streams.

Both had restrictions placed on them in November, although the Poukawa Stream ban was lifted in late March before being reimposed in May.
