The city is hosting the grand final of this year's National Young Farmer contest.
Seven regional finalists will be competing in a range of challenges over the next three days, putting their practical and theoretical knowledge to the test.
Young Farmers chief executive Richard Fitzgerald says the programme kicks off in down town Auckland on Thursday afternoon.
The first event is in Aotea Square on Queen Street.
