Five Nuffield New Zealand scholarships have been awarded for next year.

The recipients will travel overseas for four months to study the latest agricultural developments, and to gain a better understanding of international relationships with New Zealand.

Tafadzwa Majala, from Whangarei, will research how New Zealand can facilitate the faster update and application of farm management practices

Sophie Stanley, from Hamilton, will investigate how agriculture can use social media and technology to promote the NZ brand.

Lisa Harper, from Picton, wants to study how to encourage greater levels of innovation in rural businesses.

Natasha King, from Christchurch, will research whether generating gas or electricity can solve effluent and water management issues.

And Stephen Wilkins, from Athol in Southland, wants to study synergies between arable and dairy production from a nutrient and effluent perspective.
