Wool sales pick up

7:39 am on 2 May 2012

There has been a pick up in wool sales, although growers are still resisting letting their wool go as prices continue to fall.

At recent sales, up to the half the wool offered for auction has been passed in for failing to meet growers' reserve prices.

But at the latest sale last week 67% of the 13,000 bales on offer were sold.

New Zealand Wool Services International says most prices fell further last week.

But not all wools followed the trend and prices rose for certain types sought by processors such as some lamb fleeces and oddments.
