Georgia beat Romania 25-9 in their Rugby World Cup Pool B match in Palmerston North on Wednesday evening.
Georgia led 12-6 at half-time.
Georgia's points came from a try by openside flanker Mamuka Gorgodze which was converted by flyhalf Merab Kvirikashvili.
Kvirikashvili also kicked five penalties and replacement fullback Malkhaz Unrjukashvili added another penalty after Kvirikashvili was replaced with less than 10 minutes remaining.
Romania scored penalties to flyhalf Marin Danut Dumbrava - who placed two of them - and replacement fullback Florin Adrian Vlaicu.
It is only the second time Georgia has won a World Cup match. They defeated Namibia 30-0 at the 2007 tournament in France.
The result puts Romania at the bottom of their pool and marks only the second time in their seven World Cup appearances they have failed to win a match at the tournament
