Thomas Waldrom has been officially added to the England World Cup squad as a formal replacement for prop Andrew Sheridan, the Rugby Football Union said on Sunday.
Uncapped Waldrom, a former New Zealand under-21 and New Zealand Maori representative who plays at No 8, will join the team in training on Monday, Reuters reports.
Waldrom flew to New Zealand last week as cover for Nick Easter who is struggling with a back problem that has ruled him out of the past two matches.
England manager Martin Johnson he wanted to wait to see if he suffered any more injuries from Saturday's win over Romania before deciding on a permanent replacement for Sheridan, who has returned to England for shoulder surgery.
