Signal failure disrupts Auckland commuters

11:23 am on 8 April 2016

A signal fault that caused several train services in Auckland to be cancelled this morning has now been fixed, but it will take at least an hour before services are running as normal.

A signal fault in a tunnel near Britomart meant trains on the Onehunga line were suspended, and other trains were going only as far as Newmarket.

Passengers were advised to take buses into the city.

Auckland Transport said there was a signal fault outside Britomart and KiwiRail was fixing it.
