Police are investigating how a 64-year-old man fell into a creek on Auckland's North Shore and ended up in hospital.

Work was being done on widening the creek to prevent floods in the area.
But the creek has been the subject of an ongoing dispute and the police have been called to the scene several times before.
Police said a security guard and contractors were at the site this morning when the injured man threw things, including a piece of wood, in the direction of the workers.
The security guard intervened and the man ended up in the creek.
The police spokesperson said the event was recorded on a cell phone.
The man is hospital in a stable condition.
