A man is undergoing surgery in Christchurch Hospital after being found with injuries to his upper body outside a central city house in the early hours of this morning.

The area around the house in Armagh Street has been cordoned off while police carry out a scene examination.
The police said they would like to speak to anyone who might have seen a disturbance on Armagh Street between Stanmore Road and Trent Street late last night.
