Police say there are no suspicious circumstances in the death of an Invercargill man found injured in his home earlier this month.

Barry McCorkindale was admitted to Southland Hospital on Friday 8 May after being found lying unconscious at his Thomson Street home.

He later died as a result of his injuries.

Detective Sergeant John Kean, of Invercargill CIB, said the police were satisfied as a result of the investigations there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Mr McCorkindale, and the matter had now been referred to the Coroner.
