Whakatane police are trying to identify a teenager who has been indecently assaulting women in the town centre.
Detective Sergeant Darren Thomas said three women have been assaulted recently .
He said all the victims described an offender with a distinctive stretcher ear piercing, who was believed to be European, 14 to 16-years-old of solid build with brown hair.
Mr Thomas said on one occasion he was wearing a cone stretch earring and more recently a pink and black stretch earring.
He said the pattern of offences suggested the man was living locally.
The police want to identify him and put a stop to his behaviour before he offends again.
