Police have named the 69-year-old Auckland man who died after a hiking accident on Fiordland's Milford Track on Friday as George Clyde Little.
Mr Little was on a guided walking tour and was walking ahead of the main group near McKinnon's Pass when he fell.
He sustained serious head injuries and died.
The case has been referred to the coroner.
