Hamilton police are investigating an attempted abduction, where a woman fought off a man who tried to drag her into his car, causing him to flee the scene.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Cranshaw said the 19-year-old woman was waiting to be picked up after work about 10pm last night, when three men started whistling and shouting at her from their car.
Mr Cranshaw said they then pulled up beside her, and the driver tried to drag her into the car.
He said the woman put up a valiant effort, by screaming for help, hitting the man, and scratching his eyes, causing him to scream and get back in his car to drive away.
Hamilton police said anyone with information about the incident should get in touch.
