Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a marae in Tauranga, last night.
Firefighters were called out to the blaze just after 11pm in Te Maunga.
Police said a wooden deck had been extensively damaged, as-well-as the side of an administration building on the Tamapahore Marae.
Detectives and fire investigators were carrying out a scene examination, and while they were not yet saying what caused the fire, it was being treated as suspicious.
They said it was too early to know whether it was connected to other recent fires in the Papamoa area.
