A 43-year-old German man has been charged in relation to a fatal crash in Southland on Boxing Day.
One person died after a car and a campervan collided on the Athol Five Rivers Highway.
Seven people required hospital treatment.
The driver of the car has been charged with Careless Use of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death and two charges of Careless Use of a Motor Vehicle Causing Injury.
He is due to appear in the Invercargill District Court on Wednesday.
