An 80-year-woman remains in a critical condition in Christchurch hospital almost a week after the car she was in was hit head-on by a driver fleeing the police.

The driver rammed a police road block on Yaldhurst Road on Monday before colliding with a Honda carrying the woman, and two other elderly people.
The driver had been charged with reckless driving causing injury and failing to stop for the police.
A passenger in the fleeing car faced a charge of possession of methamphetamine for supply, and appeared in court yesterday.
