A teenager missing for three days in north Canterbury has been found, hungry and thirsty but unharmed.

Tipene Ngata was found walking at Pines Beach near Kaiapoi about 7.30am today.
He had last been seen at his home in Pines Beach about 1am on Sunday and spoke to a friend on his mobile about an hour later.
The 15-year-old has been reunited with his family.
