The Maori Party wants to expand a Maori cultural competency programme to all public servants.
The party says it also plans to boost funding for community gardens as part of its election manifesto.
This year the party implemented a policy called tataiako, (cultural competency) for teachers to improve the education of Maori students.
Now co-leader Pita Sharples says it wants to extend Maori cultural competency to all public servants.
Another policy it hopes to expand is the Mara Kai, programme launched in 2009, which provides grants of up of to $2000 to marae to build vegetable gardens.
Dr Sharples wants the grants made available to community groups, schools and whanau collectives.
