Social Development and Employment Minister, Paula Bennett, was admitted to hospital on Friday afternoon with pneumonia.
A spokesperson from her office says Ms Bennett is expected to stay in hospital for a few days.
She says Ms Bennett's ministerial duties will be reassessed depending on when she's discharged.
