Public sector bosses show restraint in spending

Public sector chief executives have so far shown restraint this year in their spending habits.

The expenses of government chief executives are being released every six months.

Most are so far unremarkable, but the Department of Conservation's director general Al Morrison is fond of his breakfast meetings.

Over the past year, he has spent more than $1100 on breakfasts in Wellington, where he is based.
