Decisions on the new Governor-General and whether to keep SAS soldiers on in Afghanistan are likely topics for discussion when Government ministers on Tuesday hold the first Cabinet meeting of 2011.
Justice Minister Simon Power wants to try to reduce spending on legal aid and to work on reducing delays and costs in the Family Court.
The Welfare Working Group will report back in February, with any big decisions from that likely to be announced and campaigned on nearer the election, expected towards the end of the year.
