Labour's Maori affairs spokesperson, Parekura Horomia, is promising to support any bill that bans the sale of land to foreigners.
Maori Party MP Hone Harawira has said that he's considering drafting such a bill in response to the attempt by a Hong Kong-based company to buy the Crafar dairy farm empire from its receivers.
Mr Horomia told Waatea News that it's an idea worthy of serious consideration.
Maori have consistently opposed the sale of land to foreigners, he says, and it's good to see other New Zealanders catching up.
