Ministers and MPs are spending less overall, figures on expenses for the first three months of the year show.
Ministers spent $532,254 on international travel from 1 January to 31 March.
That figure is about half what was spent in the last quarter of 2009, when just over $1 million was spent.
Total expenses for ministers' domestic travel and accommodation for themselves, their spouses and staff have increased slightly to $957,788; just $1,699 more than the final three months of last year.
MPs' international travel expenses are down $5534 to $90,757. Their domestic travel and accommodation expenses are down $320,527 to $1,470,429.
