KiwiSaver will be compulsory - Dunne

Revenue Minister Peter Dunne remains adamant the KiwiSaver retirement scheme will eventually become compulsory.

Mr Dunne says despite changes, KiwiSaver is here to stay and is proving very popular.

The United Future leader says he believes it should turn into a compulsory scheme when about 75% of all workers have joined.

He says he is convinced KiwiSaver is promoting greater savings because many young people, who otherwise would not be saving, have joined the scheme.
