Still lots of work ahead, Key to remind delegates

Prime Minister John Key says the celebratory mood at the weekend's National Party conference will have to be tempered by the work the ahead of the Government.

The party goes into its annual conference as the government for the first time in a decade.

Mr Key says National is continuing to poll well, though delegates will be aware there is no room for complacency.

He says there will be a sense of euphoria at the conference, but with the recession biting the country, there will also be a focus on the job ahead.

The conference will begin on Saturday morning in Christchurch and run through until Mr Key's address at midday on Sunday.
