Police Minister Judith Collins is confident that new legislation targetting boy racers will spell the end of pack attacks against authority.
An Aviation Security Service officer says she was set upon by about 100 boy racers near Christchurch airport on Wednesday night.
In January, a police officer was ambushed by about 300 boy racers.
Ms Collins says the effects of legislation introduced this week enabling car crushing and bans on cruising will be bolstered by extra police numbers and equipment.
