The Green Party has thrown its weight behind the Government's plan for a network of cycleways throughout New Zealand.
The party has extended its memorandum of understanding with National to include the project.
The agreement now covers home insulation, energy efficiency, the regulation of natural health products, and the New Zealand cycleway project.
Some $50 million has already been earmarked for the cycleway from next week's Budget.
Green Party tourism spokesperson Kevin Hague says the cycleway can benefit the economy and the environment at the same time.
