Assurances given over crime scene incidents - Collins

9:36 am on 20 March 2009

Police Minister Judith Collins says the Police Commissioner has assured her that processes have been put in place so a situation such as a police camera being left at a crime scene do not happen again.

A camera containing sensitive photographs, including those of domestic violence and a body, was left at a Lower Hutt property during a drugs raid in December.

A Lower Hutt man displayed a DVD copy of photos from the camera to the media on Thursday.

He claims it was used to bribe to get his uncle a lighter sentence on drug and firearm charges. That's denied by Superintendent Pieri Munro.

Ms Collins says she does not believe anything the man says at face value.

She told Morning Report she accepts Superintendent Munro's word.
