Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully is visiting the Cook Islands this week.
He will meet Prime Minister Jim Marurai, senior ministers and business leaders during the three-day visit.
Mr McCully says the issue of how small island states can protect themselves from the global economic crisis will be high on the agenda.
