Parliament will again sit under urgency this week as the Government pushes ahead with an action plan for its first 100 days.
The second week of extended sitting hours follows an unusual Saturday sitting of the House.
Parliament passed five laws under urgency last week, including changes to bail and sentencing laws, and legislation giving the Government the power to set national standards in education.
This bill was passed by 65 votes to 47, and will mean primary school children will have to be regularly tested and assessed against the standards.
Other bills passed earlier in the week were National's tax cuts package, changes to bail laws and a 90-day probationary period for new employees in small to medium-sized businesses.
The Government is not yet saying what legislation it will progress this week under urgency, but a repeal of bio-fuel obligations on oil companies is expected to be a priority.
A Radio New Zealand political reporter says Labour is promising to fight the measure all the way, as will the Greens. Two of National's support parties, United Future and the Maori Party, backed the bio-fuels requirement when it was introduced.
Tuesday will mark the first question time for the new Parliament.
