Conservative Party leader Colin Craig will not form a coalition with a National led government without a deal to make referenda binding he has said.
Mr Craig outlined his election bottomline at his Party's conference in Auckland on Saturday.
He says the party would rather sit on the cross benches than go into a coalition, or confidence and supply agreement, if the bottomline is not met.
Mr Craig said the Conservatives want any referendum with a two-thirds majority to be binding, but they are willing to negotiate with National on the wording.
And he said that's all the Conservative Party is asking for, even if National moves Murray McCully aside to help him win the East Coast Bay's electorate.
