Labour tech ideas emailed to minister

A Labour Party staff member has accidentally emailed a copy of Labour's technology policy ideas to Communications Minister Amy Adams.

The document was written by Labour's associate information and communications technologY spokesperson Clare Curran.

It includes ideas dubbed KiwiCap and KiwiCloud which would mean bandwidth and data storage could be provided to some as a benefit.

It also suggests that a levy be imposed on telecommunication companies to go towards creating New Zealand digital content.

Ms Adams said on Tuesday she has only had a chance to look at the ideas briefly, but it seems that Labour's sole big idea is to start all their policies with the word Kiwi.

The minister said the paper is the second internal Labour Party document she has been inadvertantly sent.
