United Future a Parliamentary party once more

The Speaker of the House has announced that the United Future Party is recognised once more as a political party.

In June the Electoral Commission cancelled the party's registration at its request because it was not sure it had 500 paid-up members.

The party was then not recognised by Parliament, meaning United Future had thousands of dollars in annual parliamentary funding docked.

Last week the Electoral Commission agreed to re-register the party, and the Speaker, David Carter says as of Tuesday United Future will again be recognised and its funding restored.
