United Future is considering a name change it works to re-build itself.

The party was forced to de-register on 31 May this year because it couldn't guarantee that it had 500 members.
It has applied to the Electoral Commission to register again under the name of United Future. But while it awaits that decision, leader Peter Dunne said the party has also discussed changing its name from United Future to United.
On one hand, Mr Dunne said United Future is a known brand; on the other, he said United might be snappier and it is one of a variety of options being looked at as the party tries to freshen its image.
If the party did change its name, it would be a case of going back to the United banner Mr Dunne stood under in 1996 and 1999 before the merger in 2002 with the Christian-based Future New Zealand that created United Future.
Peter Dunne said the party is also looking at how it can increase its voter base and would try to attract more voters who support outdoor recreation by continuing to advocate for people who hunt, fish and tramp.
