Dunne says ruling clears him of misleading House

Independent MP Peter Dunne says a ruling by the Speaker clears him of misleading Parliament.

David Carter has dismissed a breach of privilege complaint by the Labour Party, following an inquiry into leaked a report into the Government's spy agency.

Mr Dunne resigned as a minister after refusing to fully co-operate with the inquiry.

Peter Dunne says the Speaker upheld that he did not deliberately mislead the Finance and Expenditure Committee when he denied being responsible for leaking the report.

Mr Dunne says the matter can't be raised again as a privileges issue in Parliament and the ruling means he can now put the situation behind him.
