United Future says people have been rushing to join up since the political party was deregistered by the Electoral Commission
The party has been unable to meet the official threshold of 500 paid-up members and the Electoral Commission on Friday cancelled the party's registration at its request.
Party leader Peter Dunne says he believes there are 500 members but there were problems with verifying them all.
However he says more have rushed to join.
United Future says it is about 100 paid-up members short at the moment and that could take about two months to rectify.
The cancellation does not affect the ability of Mr Dunne to continue serving as an electorate MP or as a minister of the Crown.
Mr Dunne says people realise United Future has a place in the political spectrum that they do not want to see disappear.
