A senior public servant, Jo Cribb, has been appointed chief executive of the Ministry of Women's Affairs.
Dr Cribb is the current Deputy Children's Commissioner and has worked as a senior manager and policy leader in the Children's Commission, the Families Commission, the Ministry of Social Development and the Department of Internal Affairs.
The State Services Commissioner, Iain Rennie, says she has established working relationships with ministers, government agencies, Māori organisations, iwi, Pacific communities and the business sector.
She will start her new job on 19 November.
Kim Ngarimu has been the acting chief executive of the ministry since Rowena Phair left earlier this year to take up the job of deputy secretary, student achievement, at the Ministry of Education.
