PM to visit Indonesia and Singapore

7:16 am on 3 April 2012

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key will visit Indonesia and Singapore later this month, in an effort to strengthen trade links with the nations.

Mr Key, who will accompanied by Trade Minister Tim Groser in Indonesia, will lead a 26-strong business delegation to both countries.

Mr Key says Indonesia is already New Zealand's 10th-largest export market, but there is a lot of room to expand that trade, and to deepen the relationship between Indonesians and New Zealanders.

Mr Key hopes the visit will open doors in areas where New Zealand can offer its strengths and expertise, like the food and beverage sector, education, aviation and geothermal energy.
